With over 9 years of professional cleaning experience, I’ve had lots of time to experiment with different cleaning products that work for me. It’s important to keep your health in mind when purchasing products, after all, they touch practically everything in your home. I understand not everyone has the time to shuffle through products and find ones that won’t affect your health AND work well to save you time on your chores. So, I’m here to help narrow things down and give you my recommendations. There are certain areas (mostly in the bathroom) that I do sacrifice my boundaries with certain chemicals to get a pristine clean. Here’s a list of the cleaning products I love the most!
All purpose cleaner: Bioesque botanical disinfectant
Bioesque is derived from plants to give you a safer way to disinfect your home. It kills 99.9% of viruses in one minute and even more if it sits on the surface for longer. It is non-abrasive, chlorine free, and phosphate free.
My favorite thing about this product is that it doesn’t give me a headache! Finding an all-purpose cleaner that does not give me a headache has proven a difficult task, even when I tried the well-known Mrs. Meyers cleaning products my head was hurting after a few minutes! Bioesque also has the ability to cut through lots of grime. I use this product for my business and, during my recurring cleans, I hardly ever have to use a stronger product.
Laundry soap/degreaser: Sal suds biodegradable cleaner
This product can do everything! I use Sal Suds for everything from removing stains to scrubbing walls, and you don’t need very much. This product is biodegradable, made with essential oils and NO additives. The smell is amaziiing. If you’re not wanting to add a bunch of products to your cart, this is the ONE for you. This cleaner serves as an all purpose, laundry soap, dish soap, floors, !!!washing your fruit!!!, cleaning carpets, cleaning windows, patio furniture, and even your car!! Now I have not tested all of these but with the things I have used it for it has not disappointed.
Dish soap: Mrs. Meyers
Mrs. Meyers is what I currently use in my home for my daily dish doing. I love the variety of scents you can get and it works very well cutting through grime built up on my dishes. I also love Mrs. Meyers because it is biodegradable, phthalate free, paraben free, and animal cruelty free. However, I don’t use this one for my business. Since it’s pretty pricey I resort to buying a generic dawn dish soap in bulk.
Wood floor cleaner: Bona hardwood floor cleaner
Bona is a sustainable company. The wood floor cleaner is derived from plants, is water based, and biodegradable. I especially love this product because it rarely leaves streaks, never leaves my floors sticky, and the sent is not too strong. For some reason a scent that is too strong is super common in floor cleaning products. Most of the ones I have tried give me headaches, but bona NEVER does AND it gives me great results every time.
General floor cleaner: Bona Multi-surface floor cleaner
This product has all the same great qualities as the wood floor cleaner. It is sustainable, plant based, and residue free! A huge plus for this product is that it’s safe on almost every type of floor. Definitely a necessary product for your home. Plus this one has an unscented option!
Hard water stain remover: Bioclean hardwater stain remover
This product is amazing for shining up any metal in your home. I mainly use it on faucets and sinks. This product is professional grade and eco-friendly. Having this product in your home helps you get into the details of cleaning and makes you feel like a pro! Seriously, whenever I use this product I feel so satisfied with my cleaning. I highly recommend.
Glass cleaner: Sprayway glass cleaner foaming action ammonia free
I am so so picky when it comes to glass cleaners. When I use Windex I always end up with a headache. And a lot of the time different window cleaners don’t actually cut through any grime that ends up on windows and mirrors. Sprayway’s ammonia free foaming glass cleaner is the only answer to the question of which glass cleaner to use. This product not only breaks down grime and makes it easy to wipe right off, but it also never leaves streaks, and never gives me headaches. However, sprayway isn’t the most sustainable or health focused brand, so if you’re looking for an alternative, the Bioesque disinfectant cleaner works really well as well.
Last but not least,
toilet bowl cleaner: Lysol power cling gel
When it comes to cleaning the inside of the toilet, I just want the easiest, quickest, and most effective cleaner. So, for this one I don’t worry very much about my health. The biggest plus to this product is how well it keeps away stains from forming in your toilet, as well as the fact that it is septic safe, so anyone can use it in their home. I’ve always prioritized performance over sustainability when it comes to cleaning toilets, this makes it so I don’t have to clean toilets as often and prevents me from having to go hands in with a pumice stone as often as well. I do not have a plant-based recommendation for toilet cleaners. Any plant-based toilet cleaners that I’ve used have not performed even close to how well the Lysol cling gel does. If anyone has a more health conscious recommendation that works well let me know!!
Love this!!
